THE ANGIOGENESIS ASPECTS IN COLO-RECTAL CARCINOMAS
C. Ivascu, Alice Chirana

Jurnalul de chirurgie 2006; 2 (4):370-373
Full text: Format PDF (Romanian)

Abstract:

Angiogenesis represents the formation and differentiation of blood vessels and is implicated in fisiological processes (embriogenesis, reproductive function, wound curing) as well as in pathological processes (retinian macular degeneration, reumathoid arthrithis, psoriazis, as well as the neoplazic progression and metastasis).

The solid tumors need neovascularisation for growth, invasion, and metastasis.

The neovascularisation (determined by using Anti CD34 antybodies) is associated with a unfavorable prognossis related to the primary tumor and its recurrence.
