Abstract:

A 61 years old woman was admitted in our surgical unit, complaining of diffuse abdominal pain for about 2 month, fever temperature as high as 38.5 degrees C, faecaluria and disuria. The preoperative assessment of colo-vesical fistula was optimally performed by a combination of clinical examination, ultrasonography, sigmoidoscopy, barium enema and computed tomography. A decision was taken to operate.

The presence of a large mass at the level of the sigmoid, including an ileal loop, the vesical and the sigmoid itself, was discovered. It was thought appropriate to perform a segmentary sigmoidectomy with end to end anastomosis and a two layer cystoraphy.

Postoperative course was uneventful, with 12 days hospital stay and healing. The pathological examination confirm the diagnostic of colic diverticulosis and diverticulitis.
